A serious question for a Friday.
A local authority has asked to book with an organisation that provides CITB
certified courses. The training company have asked for the Names, personal
address, NI number and date of birth for each attendee.
They state that this is required to allocate a registration number that is
valid for life.
My view is that there is excessive data here. I could go with Name and
personal address, and just maybe I could be persuaded for DOB, however NI
number? Why would this be required?
Has anyone got any experience of CITB training? (Construction Industry
Training Board)
Also there are restrictions on what the NI number can used for, and I am not
aware that training is one of them.
I would be interested in any views! I am making contact with the CITB too to
try and understand their rationale behind this.
Thanks.
Simon Howarth.
