Yes I agree - the ones I have had - the people have been missing for a
great number of years.

In the requests that we have had the police do say that they are
investigating the possible murder of the person. The first one being for
Vicky Hamilton, the body of whom they have recently found at the house
in Margate.
They relate to people who have disappeared some years ago. They don't
relate to a person who has just gone missing last week after a night out
on town.
Sorry I didn't make this clear in my first post.

Whilst I agree that we all want to help the Police we also have to be
aware that if the information is obtained unlawfully they cannot use it
in Court (PACE). Section 29 is for the detection and prevention of crime
or the aprehension or prosecution of offenders. In missing persons there
would have to be a strong probability that a crime has been or was to be
committed for section 29 to be used.
