HI,
We allow students to nominate their own support woker: in this case the
Support worker still has to apply to be a support worker but we do not
interview them and only take up a reference from the student for whom
the support worker will be working. This allows payments to be managed
centrally. We will not use that support worker for other students unless
they go through the full application and interview process that is
followed by all support workers. We do not take responsibility for the
quality of a nominated support worker.
In the event of a nominated support worker being ill we would try and
provide cover form one of our bank of support workers.
Hope this helps,
Claire

Subject: Student Arranging Non Medical Helper
Dear All
I have had a number of students asking to sort out their own Non Medical
Helpers and the implications of this. Does anyone have any information
that they give to students detailing this?
Thanks in advance.
Heather
