I have the feeling that it varies between areas. My SS paid for my carers
room for the first two years, but for the third year they insisted that I
take it out of my DP for my care (so I had to reduce my care hours).
This is one of the reasons that I'm trying to move into one of the uni's
1-bed flats rather than staying in halls for next year...it costs less than
paying for two rooms.
