As far as the one-on-one support goes, I have a feeling that the university
hardship/access fund covered the costs until they could get it from the NHS
(as in my case they were confident that I would be deemed as needing one on
one support so they would be able to claim the costs).
I also got to borrow equipment for the semester 1 exams (a laptop), but also
could have asked to have a voice recorder loaned to me.
How would you feel about doing that for the dyslexic student?
