I also wondered what would be the status of a written transcript, what is
the personal data alleged here, is it the words, the voice, or the
visuals? I suppose a written transcript doesn't have the same effect, and
is more open to suggestion of forgery or manipulation, than an audio or
video recording, but if you're trying to get the story out, it seems
likely to be better than nothing.
It somewhat reminds of the barmy situation in the late 80s where
broadcasters were not allowed to broadcast the actual voice of members of
the terrorist organisations in Northern Ireland, but were allowed to
report their words, resulting in the bizarre situation of an actor
speaking the words over the pictures, who over time became uncannily good
at it, and it resulted in better voice dubbing than most movies ever
manage.
