You don't have to give an address for FOI - just contact details - so an
email address is sufficient.

Although logically this would allow an organisation to identify and in
fact some organisations ask them to send in documentary evidence. FoI
states that you must give an address and I would have thought with a lot
more sensitive information then it would be sensible.....just my
thoughts........ D

I agree with Lee. The answer is within section 7 DPA - there is no
statutory requirement to obtain an address .

Unless you need the address to ID the individual and their information
then I would say that the answer is no, strictly speaking there is no
legal provision that requires the address be provided.
I would argue that you can't definitively ID the person/personal data
without their address but Section 7(3) only requires the data subject to
provide us with such information as is necessary to ID the information
and satisfy us as to the requestor's ID. If this can be done without
the address then the address wouldn't be required.
Thanks

We have had a SAR and they have refused to provide an address, instead
wanting to arrange to collect any correspondence from reception. Is this
all right or are we by law bound to have an address provided ?
