Subject: Visual Impairment Advisor Vacancy at the Open University
Are you looking for an opportunity to support the needs of students with
visual impairments and policy development?
We need an experienced professional to provide advice, support and
training to staff providing services and support to over 1000 students who
have visual impairments in 14 centres across the UK. You will offer
direct support to students, co-ordinate and maintain procedures dealing
with visual impairment issues, lead on policies ensuring a quality service
in accordance with disability legislation and support the development and
implementation of accessible technologies.
You will have a first degree (or equivalent) and relevant service
experience, knowledge and experience of influencing policy and developing
awareness of services for students with visual impairments in an education
context.
You will have good A T and I T skills, ability to work on own initiative,
experience of delivering staff training and raising the awareness and
promotion of positive attitudes to visual impairment.

Salary £26,666 - £31,840
