Hi Jo
We have a number of nursing students here at Derby and so I have come
across this one before.
Bridging the Gap (and DSA Guidelines) state that...
"Health Care students who are employed by NHS trusts and seconded onto
health care courses are not eligible for NHS bursaries and so cannot
receive DSA. These students, who continue to receive their salary and
have their tuition fees paid by the NHS, can receive DSA Support under
the Student Support Regulations if they meet the usual criteria" - so,
application for DSA needs to go as usual to their Local Authority.

Hi
We have a number of students who are seconded by the NHS to Nursing
degree and diploma courses and who have a disability.
The Student Grants Unit will not pay DSA for seconded students? Has
anyone had any experience of this and of how we can get any funding for
equipment or support? I did think of Access to Work as the students are
employed?
Many thanks
Jo
