I am desperately seeking student participants to take part in my PhD
research, so if you are a student yourself, or are happy to pass this
on to students you deal with, I'd appreciate it if you could take a
few moments to read the information below.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Emma Wright
***********************************************
My name is Emma Wright and I am a PhD student at the University of
Nottingham and I am researching access to materials by print impaired
students (i.e. those with dyslexia, visual impairments, or visual
perceptual difficulties) in Higher Education. I have already carried
out research at three universities in the East Midlands, but am
looking to expand slightly to talk to students from other institutions
to compare their experiences. Any student who finds it difficult to
read standard print is eligible to take part. I am visually impaired
myself and that is where my interest stems from.
I am looking for about 6-8 participants to be interviewed, preferably
via instant messenger programs, or on the phone, but it could be done
via email or even face to face (if you aren't too far from Nottingham,
where I'm based.) Every effort will be made to ensure the
confidentiality of participants and their universities, and real names
will not be used in my report unless express permission is given. You
have the right to leave the study at any time, even during the
interview if you wish! After the interview you will be given the
chance to view the transcript and nothing will be used until you
approve it. If you want to make changes or delete anything you've
said that is fine. I will make sure you have the chance to receive
electronic copies of anything I write as a result of your interview,
including my final thesis itself and I am happy for you to give me
feedback on these.
I hope you are able to help a fellow student, so if you want any more
information, do not hesitate to contact me ([log in to unmask]).
