With the added pressure that I may be completely wrong, as this may apply to
anyone, I would suggest one strategy to those that may find difficult to
harness their dyslexic mind (the a random activation of the left-right
hemispheres while reading, writing or studying), and therefore something
that may not appear in the excellent Cottrell + Buzan books. This is:
identifying 2 particular scents that can be used at 30 minutes intervals. I
have identifyed a couple from the amazonian rain forest used in chamanic
rituals (not a joke).
There are some scientific explanation for that , although I am not entirely
sure that this would help every dyslexic person. Worth a try. For other
alternative interventions pls contact me off list. best, Andy

I had a friend who could write mirror writing as fast as she could write
forwards: we could have put them together as she wd have been the
perfect notetaker!

I had a student who preferred to read mirror writing - not sure this is
covered by universal design strategies!
Friday nearly here :>))

Still; Thursday but...There is no such thing as a strategy that only
works with students with dyslexia. Any well thought out strategy will
work for the majority of students. This is the basis for universal
design. Consider the learning needs of those with additional needs and
you improve the learning environment of all.
