Looking at the archives of this list and the discussion on Safe Harbor, I
found the ICO's guidance on transferring to another country. The say
Has the country been confirmed as ‘adequate’ by the European Commission?
The European Commission can decide if a country has an adequate level of
protection
for personal information. Currently, the following countries are
considered adequate.
Argentina Canada Guernsey Isle of Man Switzerland
For an up-to-date list of countries considered to be adequate, please see
the European
Commission’s data protection website.
Google has signed up to Safe Harbor, however previous discussion on this
site seemed to come to the conclusion that Safe Harbor was worthless. Any
comments ?
