Now here's an interesting item that has cropped up this morning from one
of our developers. Other issues spring to my mind in that is the Google
server situated outside of the EU or in a country that has no DP rules ?

The contact centre seem to have fallen in love with the Google Toolbar,
they've become really possessive of it and won't let me remove it from
their computers, even though it really messes up our web apps - blocking
popups etc.
The feature they use is the spell checker, when filling out any form they
click the spell check icon and it checks the text boxes and text areas.
There's nothing wrong that as such, but it sends all the text in the box
to Google's servers spell checks it there and then sends replies back to
the users browser.
It sends the text remotely to be checked as I don't think the toolbar can
guarantee if the user will have a dictionary installed on their PC.
What are the data protection issues of us sending all our contact centre
info to Google? Contact assessment, public protection requests etc.'
