The problem might be that the College Insurance has a large excess, so
that if the CCTV was stolen or damaged then it effectively would not be
insured, as the College would have to pay for a replacement. If the risk
factor is high, then surely the College could pay for the insurance?

Subject: meeting duties
Dear All,
I was wondering if you could help with the below question that I have
been asked to find out about.
Thanks
Sian
A VI student in college uses a CCTV to read her course materials - and
she can also access them - on paper - when the font size is increased.
We have a spare CCTV which we are prepared to lend her but the student
would need to take out insurance for capital equipment that is being
used at home or in transit. If she cannot pay the insurance are we still
meeting our duty by having the paper materials modified for her?

Subject: stethoscopes for hearing impaired nursing students
Dear all
Does anyone know of a shop or centre where a hearing impaired nursing
student can try out some of the different amplifying/ electronic
stethoscopes on the market? Although a Google search brings up several
manufacturers, I think it would be best if the student could try out
some of the kit before we go ahead and buy anything via DSA.
Any suggestions very welcome.
best wishes
Honey
