Instinct says that the two staff members have a different "function" for
this request.
SAR on Org by Staff member is a valid SAR and is served and complied with.
The manager has no "private space" for data on staff member because the
manager manages the staff member.
SAR served on Org by manager is valid insofar as the org must declare all
info the org holds on manager, but it does not pass into the private space
of the staff member. Staff member need not disclose any privately held
data, even if this is held within staff member's place of employment
I would call UKIC helpline with this scenario and use their words as an
answer. If you ask nicely they can be prevailed upon to work speedily for
you in writing as well.

Scenario.....
Ongoing grievances.....member of staff submits Subject Access Request for
all correspondence relating to that member of staff between their line
manager, the departmental manager and Personnel Office. Request complied
with.
Line manager then submits a Subject Access Request for "copies of all
documents (including correspondence) about myself held by [member of staff]
in hard copy and electronic format".
Does the manager have the right to that information?
