Chris
The data would not be accurate though as he is not in fact residing at
the address the wife states and therefore in breach of the 4th
principle. What's wrong with the husband writing to you or waiting
until he comes out........
Unusual request though...surprised they would want someone to know such
sensitive information.

Subject: change of address
Apologies if this has come up before. If a data subject is in prison and
his wife asks to make a change of address for her husband (to a new
family residential address not the prison!) how might this be
accommodated, or not? We don't want to appear unsympathetic to the
circumstances but we wouldn't normally accept a change of address from a
third party.
Apparently it is difficult to get communications from the prison. So
the husband cannot confirm the change himself. Is anyone able to say
how accurate this statement might be?
Chris
