Which is why I tried to phrase it carefully.
Don't worry Doreen - we've all been caught out before with something or
other like this. Anyone that tells you otherwise is a big fibber!
Simon.

Hang on a second. In Doreen's defence she referred to this as a hoax... I
don't think she could have anticipated the half dozen (and mine makes it 7)
replies.
That said, mentioning there was a hoax out there doesn't really do anyone
any favours... the sending e-mails about it are precisely the type of fun
and games the writers want to generate.
I love the tell tale signs of these... the bad spelling, the mentioning
that it's been on CNN (rather than FOX... surely some Democrat conspiracy
to slow up capitalism...of course) - and the fact the Microsoft have
confirmed it being a problem... they never do that!

Please respond to Tim Trent
I think I would suggest your IT security manager now buys beer for a very
large number of people. I will be in the Fox and Grapes at noon!
Might I suggest he installs a good firewall, a good set of anti-virus
software, good spyware detection and then concentrates on a data deletion
and destruction policy for when data exceeds your data retention policy
periods?
So few organisations have those!
