Well, I'm not sure they have a Data Protection Officer (I've checked their website and no results come up under that term). But they do, apparently, have a Subject Access Request Manager (see below - taken off their website)
"Right of Access to Your BT Information
When you visit BT.com you have direct personal control over information in your personal profile. You can access and change this information at any time by using the 'update your profile' link.
If you want to know exactly what personal information BT holds on you, you can obtain it. If it transpires that the information held is inaccurate, we will make the necessary amendments and confirm to you that these have been made. Please write to the following address, enclosing a cheque for the administration fee of £10 made payable to BT plc under the terms of the Data Protection Act.
Data Subject Access Manager, PP LF11, Libra House, Sunrise Parkway, Linford Wood, Milton Keynes, MK14 6PH"
Maybe everyone should write to he/she - if they are still in post after today??!!

The office in is sunny Milton Keynes. BT's helpline (!) seems not to understand the question when I ask for the number though! They have never heard of Data Protection. Well the person who answered the phone hasn't!
Parallel universe stuff here.
An infinite number of BTs alongside each other, never quite communicating with each other. Good lord

Maybe they've registered with one of those scam agencies who say they will do it for you....I think that sums BT up as far as DP goes.........That's the basics so how can they expect to get anything right.........Have they actually got a DP Officer.....doesn;t sound like it.....and here's us poor Councils paying every year.....and a mega-bucks firm like BT gets away with it...so when I get another call this evening from the overseas call centre..I'll defintely be hanging up.
Have a good week-end.

Direct quote from Paul Hamnett of the Information Commissioner's office.
"they're not currently registered with us"
