I was thinking that they might also offer a private facility for this - not
at the amenity site.
I just did a simple Google search and found, for instance, this US company
http://www.thegreenpc.com/recycling_computers.htm
"PROTECTING YOUR DATA IS OUR BUSINESS
PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT IS EVERYONE'S BUSINESS"
I then found this UK company http://www.recycleit4u.co.uk/data-drive.htm
I know that this is not for private individuals but for commercial
companies/organisations.
I see that there is such a company
http://www.cambridge-computer-recycling.co.uk/ in Cambridge - but this is
the UK capital for cycling - I would imagine that there is not universal
provision.
I found this company http://www.it-green.co.uk/LonUK_computer_recycling.html
which lists areas in London where they provide a service.
"We are pleased to offer Complete clearance and collection services for
redundant computer equipment within London (UK). We ask that you book Our
computer disposal services one week in advance for this service due to high
demands for our services and the need to book a suitable slot. We can offer
our computer recycling services within London (UK) and will also Collect
computers from London (UK). "
