Of course, it is quite usual for photos to be taken of individuals at the
entrance or exit to a ride - I have a number of such photos which I have
paid for when on holidays abroad.
They are then pinned up on a board at the end of the boat ride or whatever.
It is quite usual for photos to be taken of every individual at the end of a
marathon.
This is by way of observation rather than comment.
What policies does the London (or other) Marathon have about individuals who
participate and their photos - although given that these events are mostly
televised it would be difficult to argue that this was confidential data.
