How many customers details were contained on this PC?
Either this affects everyone or if it affects specific people then they
should issue new security details to those people.
No doubt they decided that it was better to cause mild alarm to 11m people
than serious alarm to the people whose information had been compromised.
After all, they would no doubt seriously consider taking their accounts
elsewhere.
And if their password/account information were to have been changed by
Nationwide (to prevent abuse by fraudsters) the specific affected customers
would have been advised of this and then these customers would want to make
a claim against Nationwide for potential harm.
