There would seem to be a circularity there - I don't have the form as to
whether that would be allowable but the only reason that they issued the
Council Tax bill was that I claimed to be living there. Obviously the fact
that I pay the Council Tax bill does not mean that I live there.
Anyway I sent the original of the mortgage letter to me at my new address.
I received the letter returned by the Council today.
I did use to know what the average turnover was of electors because of my
work in market research - 30 years ago in Inner London it was substantial.
If the Council require every new elector to supply such evidence (which I
somehow doubt - judging by the weblink that I posted) the amount of work
would be phenomenal ie 10,000 households/30,000 electors a year. That is a
substantial administrative burden.
