It is a very pedantic point I'm making. It actually doesn't matter *which*
chief executive (of there have been several) it is. What matters is that
*the* Chief Executive is identified because that position has one incumbent
at any one time.
Thus this email address identifies a unique living individual.
The fact that, for it to identify the chief executive in 2002 requires extra
information is clear. But that does not prevent that address, used without
a date then, from identifying the *current* Chief Executive today
I know I am being pedantic. I don't apologise for it. I work always on a
"Better safe than sorry" approach because we never know when some Judge is
going to set a precedent using any one of us as the people in the wrong

I'm afraid I still do not understand. Or rather, I think understand what
you are saying, but I do not see how without corroborative information you
can know which Chief Executive was being referred to in an undated document
quoting [log in to unmask], and hence how it can
uniquely identify one person. I can see how it might identify the occupant
of the role at the time you're referring to such document, but not any more
than that, other than it was one of a set of known occupants of that role.
But when your Chief Exec's position becomes availble, let me know!
Jethro.
