Greetings
I've just been speaking to the company who provides our telephone lines.
I was querying a number of issues with them, and in the course of the
conversation their customer services representative inadvertently
disclosed personal details of a domestic customer - name, full postal
address and services that that individual subscribed to.
This disclosure was made after I had verified our account details with
them - there was no question as to my identity or what I was calling in
connection with.
I have two questions:
(1) Is this type of disclosure (unlawful as it is) commonplace?
(2) How can I best report this disclosure? Hardly crime of the century
but an unlawful disclosure nonetheless.
Ronan.
