See http://www.jisclegal.ac.uk/dataprotection/dataprotection.htm
Section on "Disclosure to Third Parties" which you might have seen already.
"states that personal data are exempt from the non-disclosure provisions
where the disclosure is required by or under any __enactment, by any rule of
law__ or by the order of a court".
As to whether it is a "court" http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/coroner.bcc
states that:
"the Coroner for Birmingham and Solihull districts, is an independent
judicial officer presiding over a Court of Record within the English
Judicial system and discharges his duties in accordance with the Coroners
Act 1988, the Coroners Rules 1984, and other relevant legislation."

Subject: [data-protection] S35(1) and 'Court'
I take the view that the Coroner's Court (inquest), albeit a
non-criminal court, is nevertheless a 'court' and that s35(1) is
properly engaged in response to any order received from it?
Right? Wrong?
Best,
Gerry.
