I looked in to Nigel Roberts statement about the Register of Business Names
being abolished.
I found this website http://www.ukcorporator.co.uk/business_names.php which
gives more information about this. (It confirms what Nigel's says and gives
further information on what is currently available in the private sector)
I have no personal knowledge of this and I just post it for information.
