I've followed this case over the years, and I have to say that I think
the complete mishandling of this particular patient's treatment is very
much in the public interest - two people lost their lives as a result,
and many more were put at risk.  I think the medical professionals
should be held accountable for the decisions they made which allowed
that to happen.  Just as the social workers were in the Victoria Climbie
case.
