Hi
I think the main reason the query was originally raised was simply
because the member of staff concerned wanted to ensure they weren't
failing in any duty if they didn't pursue the issue relating to JSA. We
will be asking for clarification about the CV for educational purposes,
as it has a bearing on this person's suitability for the course for
which they have applied. I don't think my colleague was particularly
desperate to shop this person to the authorities, even though they may
not like the thought of somebody defrauding the DWP.
Getting slightly off the purpose of my original post, I shall pass your
valuable comments regarding our website on to those responsible (I had
actually written Josiah Mason College in full at the bottom of my
original post, but that's beside the point :-)), but could you first
tell me where there is black text on a blue background or blue links on
a blue background? I have had a bit of a look this morning, and haven't
yet found any instances - I would like to be able to site examples when
passing on your comments.
It is now!
Jenny

Hi,
Should the college and its employees not be concerned with providing
education because that is the reason you are there for, and this is the
purpose you received the CV for? I mean we can all have reasons not to
like someone because of something they do or may appear to have done
that goes against our values. I guess politicians do it all the time
... so maybe that makes it right for everyone else ... etc.
Therefore, would it be fair if I reported you because I find impossible
to read http://www.jmc.ac.uk/ (and fair enough if I was looking for a
course) but in this instance I decided to look because I could not
figure out what JMC stood for. Add to that, report you without
answering your Q on DP :-)
Me thinks you should stick to the "purpose" for which you received the
CV and let the other authorities do their duty. Further, spend some
time fixing the site - which is not hypothetical - to meet the
accessibility (now legal) requirements. Black text on blue, blue links
on blue background, if anyone manages to apply to you for a course the
last thing you want to do - tell your colleague - is to report them to
the authorities :-)
Friday yet?
Regards
Charles
PS. Of course the student could have "lied" in his/her CV trying to make
it more impressive, query him/her on that and see if they are willing to
amend their CV to be more honest.
