When our DP Notification came through in April of this year it came with
a pre-prepared FOI new purpose statement which I simply signed and
returned.

Subject: [data-protection] Amendment of Notification
Having just read this on ActNows newsletter. How many LA's have done
this ?
Anyone renewing their DP notification who is a public body is being told
that a data controller who is a public authority must declare this fact
within its Data Protection Notification. Upon doing so the following
statement will be added to your notification.
"This data controller states that it is a public authority under the
Freedom of Information Act 2000 or a Scottish public authority under the
Freedom of Information
(Scotland) Act 2002"
This is the amendment
71. In section 16(1) of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the registrable
particulars), before the word "and" at the end of paragraph (f) there is
inserted-
"(ff) where the data controller is a public authority, a statement of
that fact,"
