We're currently reviewing our procedures for length of time in which
confidential documents relating to a student's disability/learning
difficulty (i.e. Educational Psychologist Reports, Specific Learning
Difficulties Assessments) within data protection are kept. Although
information relating to financial returns is kept for 6 years we
wondered how long other organisations kept the non financial but
confidential data for. As a FE/HE college, students can return several
years later and there are several views on what is a desirable
timescale.
Has anyone already looked at this? If so any advice on how long you
keep such documents would be useful.

Debra
