Call for Conference Sessions
The 2007 Dyscalculia and Dyslexia Interest Group (DDIG) Conference will be held at Loughborough
University on Tuesday 27th March 2007.
The group aims to help dyscalculic and dyslexic students by the exchange of information between
H.E. practitioners regarding the links between dyscalculia, dyslexia, maths anxiety and the study
of Mathematics in Higher Education. We hope to raise awareness of the issues, offer a forum for
discussion and link together research and practice. The group brings together both mathematics
support and dyscalculia/dyslexia support tutors. We also hold events each year that aim to
promote examples of good practice. The group has grown rapidly and we now have a mailing list
of some 200 members. Our web site has a number of resources and links on:
http://ddig.lboro.ac.uk
The first DDIG full-day conference, “Innovations”, was held in 2005, and in 2006 we held the
second “Forging the Future”. Over 120 delegates, representing nearly 70 different institutions and
organisations, attended both conferences. The presentations are available on:
http://ddig.lboro.ac.uk/pages/2006_conference.html
and

We are now planning our 3rd full day conference on Dyscalculia, Dyslexia and Mathematics, with
the focus on higher education. We envisage 2 main presentations and a series of parallel sessions.
The DDIG Business Group invites submissions for parallel sessions. The sessions are welcomed
from researchers, practitioners and academics on a range of topics relating to Dyscalculia,
