One of our local Education Authorities has just informed us that they
will no longer accept DSA forms which have been stamped and signed by
the Support Service for Students with Disabilities and that they have to
now be signed by someone from the Registrars Office. This will slow the
system down, the staff in that Dept will not know what the forms are, if
students send in evidence with the form it will get lost and we often
stamp, sign and forward to the LEA's for the applicant/student. With
foms coming to us it also means we have a knowledge of who is going for
DSA and can help the student with the processs. The LEA is saying it is
only the part timers who will be affected as the full time
undergraduates do not need it stamped and the Registrars Office have to
confirm that the course is eligible and how much % of a full time course
it is. This what we are able to do at present and has worked for years
and the LEA's have always been happy. Can you let me know how you all
do it please. The LEA concerned is going to take it back to the next
LEA meeting.
Thanks
