Dear Andy,
I get every department to email me all their documents, then I just burn that all to CDs that I give out to students who need them generally Dyslexics and VI students. I make sure that everything is where possible in Word. I update the disk yearly over the summer and hand it out with instructions of how to use it with texthelp and Jaws. We employ a student to burn all the cds to save on staff time.
I hope that is of some help.

Subject: Alternative formats HEIs
Dear Colleagues. Apologies for any repetition. I would be grateful for your
advice on the method that your University is following in providing
alternative formats to students. I will be grateful if you could kindly let
me know if your institution is doing any of the following options:
A- There is a central department (such as Communications or Publications)
that is responsible for transcriptions directly
B- the Disability Office or equivalent is responsible for transcription and
charges departments for the service
C- As B but the University allocates an special budget for this service
D- The transcription is outsourced by departments
E- Non of the above/other (pls explain)
Many thanks in advance, Andy (University of Kent)
