Posted on behalf of Tech-dis and the Accessible Assessment Forum:
At a recent Accessible assessment Forum (participants from EdExcel, OCR,
Becta, SQA, QCA, City & Guilds and a consultant to DfES) several
suggestions were
made as to where research would be particularly useful to inform future
work.
I wondered if any of you knew of any existing work in the following
areas or indeed how valuable they would be to explore? The areas
mentioned in particular
were:
How does voice-activated software interact with online assessment
software (possibly including, but not focussed entirely upon, VLEs'
assessment facilities)?
Are there any assessment packages with which one can use voice input?
How do existing CCTV / screen magnifiers work with online assessment
software (possibly including, but not focussed entirely upon, VLEs'
assessment facilities)?
Are there any assessment packages that are better or worse than others
in this respect?
TechDis could potentially source funding for appropriate research and
write-up. Please contact me (

if you have relevant information or offers. Many thanks."
