Hi Liz,
Locally in NW there are a number of specialist assessment centres and optometrists who undertake this work - all of the LEAs we have worked with have been happy for the student in receipt of DSA to arrange an assessment themselves with someone we've recommended, and to pay for the assessment and tinted glasses if deemed appropriate.

We are unsure about where to send students for testing on the above once the problem has been identified by an Educational Psychologist. We have been using a specialist company but this has been challenged by one or two funding bodies. What do others do and what is best practice ? Any information would be gratefully received .
