Hi Kate
I project manage support workers here at UWIC - we went from "ad hoc" three years ago to formalising it/seeing it "grow"! So, it would be good to attend your Seminar. Can you book me on a place please.
Thanks
Carol

Subject: Seminar: Developing Support Worker Training
FREE Seminar - 3 November 2005 - Bristol
DEVELOPING SUPPORT WORKER TRAINING
Are you responsible for co-ordinating and/or training support workers for
your educational organisation or institution? Have you established
innovative training methods for your teams of support workers? Would you
like to discuss training and development issues with others in similar
positions?
In order to disseminate and share good practice and to discuss key training
issues for this growing profession, the Centre for Access and Communication
Studies will be holding a free seminar at the Southville Centre, Bristol on
Thursday 3 November 2005 (1000-1630).
The seminar programme will include:
· Opportunities to disseminate and share good practice
· Opportunities to discuss curriculum issues and qualification
frameworks
· Disabled users' perspectives
· Information about the University of Bristol Personal Support Worker
programme and contributions from students past and present
· Contributions from specialist organisations and projects
This is an ideal opportunity to share good practice and create effective
networks with others in the higher, further and adult and community
education sectors. Lunch and refreshments will be provided free of
charge. Places are limited so apply early!
To book a place on the seminar, please email Kate Thomas
([log in to unmask]) to request a registration form. Return your
completed form either as an attachment by email, or by post to Kate Thomas,
