If someone who is disabled in such a way that to get to the course they need to drive, but do not have a badge, asks for a space, under the DDA you would have to make reasonable adjustments. Why would it not be a reasonable adjustment to take a space from someone who is not disabled? I assume that, like other institutions, you have spaces for people who are not disabled such as staff and visitors.

Subject: car parking
Hi all,
I realise that everyone is busy, however I would appreciate some information
on your policies and procedures for disabled parking. We are finding that as
the number of students increase that we can not meet the demand for car
parking on campus. I would therefore appreciate if you could advise on your
criteria for parking, percentage of disabled spaces etc. The University is
considering restricting it to 'blue badge holders' which causes me some
concern. Any advice would be welcome.
Best Wishes
Linda
