If a DVD isn't available in the UK (region 2) there is a good chance it may
have been released somewhere in the world. If you have a multiregion player
you can play DVDs from anywhere. Many more films have been released on DVD
in America and Canada (region 1) than in Europe.
A very useful site is www.dvdpricecheck.co.uk
You can type in a film title and it will search DVD retail web sites all
over the world.
If your DVD player is not multiregion it can probably be 'hacked' via codes
typed in on the remote control. See
http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/info/multiregion/
A lot of 'cheap' supermarket players are multiregion 'out of the box'.
