Hi Mike
Here at Sussex we have sent a complaint to UCAS for the format that
statistics are made available in for downloading.
The standard advice to PC users is not download .exe files from web site as
they often contain viruses. By using .exe they are locking out any user who
does not have a PC, yet it is just a spreadsheet zipped up in an PC
executable file. If they had made them .zip files you could have unpacked
them on your Mac. If you download it to your Mac and then try to email it
to yourself our mail security system will drop the .exe attachment on the
grounds that it is likely to be a virus file as that is how most virus
attachments are spread!

~ I recently visited a project who have been encountering difficulties
~ obtaining accessible documents (course materials etc.) from examining
~ bodies such as the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority and the
~ European Computer Driving Licence. The documents were eventually obtained
~ after much negotiation. Have other people experienced similar
~ difficulties? I am aware of the Institute for Employment Studies' recent
~ report on the DDA Part 2 amendments but wondered what disabled
~ students/disability staff experiences are. Mike Wray
