Information and Services Manager
(maternity leave cover – initially for six months)
Salary: c. £25,000 per annum pro rata
Skill is a successful and well-established, high profile national
organisation developing opportunities for disabled people in post-16
education, training and employment. Skill also provides a comprehensive
information service for disabled people, their families/supporters and
people working with them. Its head office is in London Bridge.
Skill wishes to recruit a temporary Information and Services Manager to
cover maternity leave of the existing postholder. The successful applicant
will take a lead role in the management of Skill’s direct services,
including the Information Service, website content, publicity and
membership newsletters. As part of this, the post will involve managing a
small, London-based team to ensure the delivery of information to target
audiences throughout the UK. There will also be a requirement to maintain
quality standards for the Information Service.
The postholder will take the lead management in a Student Outreach Project
and produce regular monitoring reports.
To fill this interesting and diverse role, you will have knowledge of one
or more of the education, training and employment sectors, and will have
experience of managing people and services. You will be motivated and
possess strong communication skills – both oral and written. Experience of
using IT in an information-driven environment would also be advantageous.
The remuneration package will be as stated above. Skill will offer 10
days’ holiday for the six-month term.
Secondment will be considered.
