We would appreciate advice supporting an applicant with mental health
difficulties for her Social Work degree interview.
She has asked to take in notes plus a support person.
The person is to remind her of her notes if she becomes disoriented, and to
be an emotional support but not to play an active role.
Do other universities make such adjustments, is this reasonable?
Is it fair to say that such an adjustment should not affect the legitimacy
of the interview and any assessment of competency for
the social work profession?
If such adjustments were not agreed to, could this be interpreted as not
fulfilling obligations under the SENDA legislation?
