Subject: Re: textHELP in exams ?
On behalf of Nathalie Richards, IT Support Officer:
As the majority of students with SpLD will use textHELP as part of their studies on a day-to-day basis, how would you distinguish which of those students should be allowed to use textHELP in an exam environment? Is it a case of - if the student requests it, they get it, and if so, is this fair on other students with dyslexia, who haven't thought to ask?
If it is based on severity of dyslexia, as this is not an exact science, how do we decide what the cut-off point is, and who decides this?
