My favourite mic (if we're not going to use professional quality, which
seems out of the question) and I use it for home recording, too. However,
some students are reluctant to use it because it looks bulky and they don't
want to attract attention which again sometimes involves compromise ( on the
principle that any mic is better than none). You can use it with an iPod
but it has to go through the Griffen and I have the impression that the data
is degraded.
