A number of students have recently been requesting iPods - however some
LEAs and funding bodies are reluctant to fund these over other digital
recorders. I've had one turned down this morning, partly because they are
still seen as a fashion accessory (his exact words).
The recording quality is still not fantastic, but they may be preferable
(i.e. justifiable to LEAs) where the student is likely to need either
additional storage/file transfer capability as well as lecture recordings,
or if they can't return regularly enough to their machines to download
recordings. Hope that makes sense!
