Last week I queried whether £12000 was the correct price for a Deaf Alerter system. Actually seems it can be the price. However, there are much cheaper / similar products on the market. Deaf Alerter seem to be a known name so their name gets used generically (like Hoover), but it is a tad expensive. There is also a system called Pagealert, which uses vibrating pagers and is more affordable. Prices start a just over £800

Subject: Re: Fire alarm
Dear Diana
I am deaf and use a vibrating pager for a fire alarm alert. We had real alarm a last month and it worked successfully. The system was supplied by Dove Technology it is called Page Tek and costs around £650. The disavantage is that I like to keep it in a pocket ( I hate clip on belt
pagers) and if I dont' have clothes with a pocket I forget to use it.
