Dear David
On one occasion we have been able to split the overall costs of a
CSV (including the accommodation) between social services and
LEA - the reason the LEA agreed was because the CSV was doing
half personal care and half academic support and it was still
cheaper than meeting the study support needs via our normal
processes.
Where a student has not used a CSV we have regarded it as a
reasonable adjustment to provide one additional room for a
personal carer without making any charge. We have also recently
built some graduate accommodation which has some 'suite' rooms
to allow for this.
Hope this helps.
