This workshop offers practical advice and guidance on how to support learners who use the JAWS screen reader.
Participants will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands on experience of using and configuring JAWS. In addition, the day will include approaches to producing accessible documents.
Aims
1. To provide hands on experience of using JAWS with Microsoft Applications.
2. To learn how to configure JAWS to suit individual needs of different users.
3. To learn how to navigate web sites and online booking systems.
4. To learn keyboard shortcut commands for Windows and JAWS.

Who should attend?
The day will be extremely useful for staff at schools, colleges, universities and training organisations who have JAWS users. In particular: Rehabilitation staff, Library Staff, Social Workers, employers - seeking to extend their compliance with SENDA and the DDA, education staff - including teachers, Disability Advisers and Student Support workers, in both Further and Higher Education advisers and university advisers.
Prior knowledge required
Basic ICT skills.
