The National Disability Team (NDT) has published statistics for 2003/4
that describe the number and percentage of disabled students studying
higher education (HE) on UK HE institution programmes.
Using the latest data obtained from the Higher Education Statistics Agency
(HESA), the NDT has updated a range of statistical tables that include:
1) The number of HE students by:
- Impairment (1994/5 – 2003/4).
- Impairment and gender (1994/5 – 2003/4).
- Impairment and mode of study (1994/5 – 2003/4).
- Impairment and level of programme studied (1994/5 – 2003/4).
- Impairment and undergraduate qualification aim (1994/5 – 2002/3)
2) The percentage of HE students by:
- Impairment (1994/5 – 2003/4).
Some of the data describes the participation of first year students,
whilst other statistics outline the disabled students enrolled on all
years of HE study.
The statistics can be freely viewed from the resources pages of the NDT
