Here's a good reasion for providing the doctor with guidance on what is
required:
Quoting from a recent doctor's note supplied as 'Medical Evidence'
" X's disability principally affects his mobilty. He has no intellectual
impairment. I see no reason why he would not be fit to study in higher education"
This doctor obviously thinks he's been asked to state the student's fitness
for something rather than explain his disability. A 'difficult' LEA could
chose to interpret this as implying the the student will not need any support.
Please note that this one was resolved, I'm not seeking a solution to this
case merely supporting my earlier suggestion for providing some sort of guidance
to doctors.
