Hi

I was just going to look for some old resources myself;

Try 'Looking On' (Young, Ackerman, Kyle)
Forest Bookshop says:
Back in print by popular demand, the study examines deaf/hearing working
practice and relations, and some of the crucial issues that affect them.
It identifies strategies to address these issues and how to assess the
effectiveness of the strategies. It makes clear recommendations for
development of good practice that meets both the needs of deaf and
hearing colleagues and builds effective services. A4 Paperback 38 pages
1998

I guess Forest may be able to recommend other books (www.forestbooks.com
)

BA (HONS) Deaf Studies Communication Support and Education

I may be able to help you here - I did my PG Diploma Deaf Studies
disertation on working relationhips between deaf and hearing people -
there are many references to other studies in this area within this. I
can send you this or I can send you the references from this?

The other thing which I can tell you is that Sense (charity for
deafblind people) is currently doing a study due to finish in December
about relationships in teams, where there are hearing-sighted, deaf,
deafblind, blind people all working together (or any combination of
those people). Including issues for managers who are deaf/ deafblind
themselves who manage hearing-sighted staff teams. This study is not
finsihed yet and only focuses on the internal situation. But this may be
of interest to you. When i dont have my phd hat on, I work for Sense as
Research Officer, so am the researcher on this project.

If either of these two areas interest you, let me know and I can send
you more details

	Dear All,

	We are trying to sort out a module for the third year of the
degree we run with MDX which is called Management Communication Skills.
We want it to encompass issues of deaf people managing and working with
hearing people. Does anyone know any references about studies done on
this topic? It could be a more general area such as disabled people
managing and working with non disabled people.

	Regards

	Mary
